The 2011 Major League Baseball Draft is in the book, which means that due to its mercury-like movement there are 50 new potential St. Louis Cardinals. However, with the start the club is off too, the goal of the week seems to be clear: get more arms, but get plenty of bats and athletes.
The Cardinals are heavy with pitching among their elite prospects; however they do lack impact hitting prospects. It is clear that the organization set out to continue to even the ranks out this year, and for the third time in four years, they selected a hitter with their first pick.
